Truss Roofing

TRUSS ROOFING

Truss roofing starts with it being delivered on a truck. Trusses should be fully supported when being transported in either a horizontal or vertical plane, dont put to much strain on chords or webs. Angle protectors are a good way to avoid damage.

Once off the truck if the trusses are being stored on site for an extended period of time before use, adequate provision should be made to protect trusses against the effects of weather. They should also be kept on timber fillets clear of the ground in a flat position.

Before erecting the trusses certain things should be checked

- Load bearing to plates are level

- The structure is of the correct dimensions

- The top plates as well as being level, are straight in their length

- The internal walls are set below the outer wall level by 10mm
